When you choose a horse to send to the track you don't  send just any old horse.  You choose one with a proven pedigree, perfect confirmation and heart!  Well friend; that's what God does when He wants to get His will done here on earth!  First; we are of a royal liniage; we are from a proven line!  We have been adopted into the family of God and now have all the rights, priviledges and abilities of our brother, Jesus!  I'd say that's the best pedigree going; wouldn't you!  Unbridled Elaine (2001 Breeders Cup Dystaff Winner) had a sire who won the Breeders Cup (Unbridled Song), a grandsire who wone the Breeders Cup (Unbridled) and her damn, Carol's Folley produced many millions of dollors in off-spring.  That's nothing compared to our Bloodlines!  King of Kings, Lord of Lords, Messiah, Conquering King, All Sufficient, Alpha Omega, Creator, Deliverer, Healer, Pure Love, and on and on and on!  All He has is ours because of the finished work of the cross...WOW!  We're qualified by that alone!  We're in the most elite group of 'runners' going!  We'd all make the Keenland Select Sale...we are the best of the best!

Training Tips

Last weekend, Multiple, All Around, World Champion, Patty Johnson, gave a clinic here at the Farm.  As usual, I was running around making sure everything was as it should be, before I mounted up. That day I was riding my three-year-old western pleasure prospect, Legacy.  Usually I take time to cinch her up slowly, lung her for a bit, tighten the girth again, and then mount up.  In my excitement, I just tightened up the girth, and got on so I could catch up with the flow of the clinic. Legacy began to swish her tail and wanted to step into the lope.  I checked myself to see if I was tense or over riding her.  I didn't feel like I was.  All of a sudden, she stopped her feet, put her head down, and quickly dropped to her knees and then her side.  I got my legs out of the way (trying to decide weather to ride it out and stay on her until she got up, or get off while the getting was good!)  Patty firmly instructed me to get off, so I did! As soon as I could get to my feet I made her get up. I let her know what she had done was wrong and should never happen again.  Then I got on and rode her through her distress.

Training Tips

Synergy: To find your balance you must become one with the energy of the horse. To ride well , or even to stay on her, you almost need to become part of the horse, and this requires an intention and focus that seems to transend training and technique. You must be willing to travel in the same direction and arive at the same destination!

Life's Trail - is not to arive at the end in a well preserved body, but to gallop in, slide to a stop, completely spent, exclaiming, Woo Hoo! What a Ride! (Elaine Averill)

Serenity: The joy of riding is that there are no preocupations, just the close connection of our bodies and minds. The first thing that a rider has to learn if she wants it to become an artform, is the art of relaxation, This means finding peace in the process. Shalom, nothing broken and nothing missing. Enjoyment for the sake of beauty, unconcerned with success or failure, others opinions or judgements.

Responsibility- Working with horses is a priviledge not obligation. There is no way around it, a horse doesn't care about how much you know, he responds best to how much you care!

Presence - Requires living in the moment! We must forget about yesterday and not yearn for tomorrow. We need to live fully and completely in the moment so we don't miss what we are created to be. When you live fully focused in the moment, instead of always in plans and efforts for the future, you begin to experience real life.

We are offering Equine Assisted Learning Certifications this year!  There are three levels available:

  1. Connections: between where we were, are, and where we want to go.  Using experiential learning with the horse, we will help individual see that current patterns that exist in their lives have brought them to where they are today.  The horse will lead us to find new patterns that will improve relationships, habits, self-esteem, communication and confidence.  EAL is especially effective for fear-based issues like panic attacks, anxiety, and OCD.
  2. Balance:  Focus is necessary for balance to be established in life or on a horse.  When we focus on where we want to go, proper alignment is a natural result.  Balance also requires engagement of the whole person, spirit, heart, mind, and body.   If one of those is ignored, we'll begin to slip and possibly fall.  The horses will mirror what they see in us making corrections in our focus easy and effective.
  3. Unbridled:  once you make the Connections, find Balance you are ready to be Unbridled.  The horses will teach you how to live free from fear, old patterns of thinking, negative relationships or habits.  These truths are easily adaptable to your life.

Shrewd Investment tip:  Invest in the lives of others.  Real success will be the relationships we have built, the lives we have touched, the people we have loved and who have loved us and invested in us.

Remember the story in the New Testament about the paralyzed man who had four loyal, committed, inventive friends, who put him on a stretcher and carried him to Jesus?  There were so many people listening to Jesus that they couldn't get near Him.  Failure clearly wasn't even a thought, so they eventually found a way.  Destructive and difficult as it was, they did it anyway.  They climbed on top of the house, cut a hole in the roof and lowered him down with ropes.  These guys were creative, out of the box thinkers!

It's like being in a pleasure class, and just before you get in front of the judge someone cuts in front of you and causes your horse to break stride.   We would have absolutely hated those guys.  If we were sitting outside the house waiting for our turn to talk to Jesus and all of a sudden we see some vandals cutting in line in front of us, and destroying the roof of someone's home, we would have been furious.  Important to note, Jesus did not send them to the back of the line.  He was impressed with their creative faith.  They got Jesus attention!

Welcome to the Unbridled Faith Farm site.  I'm so grateful that you've taken the time to visit us.  My desire for Write'm Cowgirl is to share what I'm learning, with you, as I travel down the 'freedom trail' of life. - I would love to have you blog back to me, too!  There is so much to learn and so much encouragement we can share!

I read a book early this winter called, "ONE MONTH TO LIVE; THIRTY DAYS TO A NO-REGRETS LIFE".  Little did I realize at the time, but it set the direction for the rest of the season.    It begins with this:  Death is more universal than life; everyone dies but not everyone lives (Alan Sachs).  I am convinced that it is not the fear of death, of our lives ending, that haunts our sleep so much as the fear…that as far as the world is concerned, we might as well never have lived"(Harold Kushner).  I was immediately taken back to 1996 when I was diagnosed with cancer.  In the days that followed my priorities and focus changed dramatically.  Love took the forefront and petty details disappeared.  I lived with purpose, stayed fully in the moment, and began an intensely personal relationship with my Savior, Jesus Christ.  A month later, laying in the recovery room, I got the news that I was cancer free!  I proclaimed it as the best cancer I had never had!  I was so grateful for life and for the lessons I had recently learned.  Sadly, as the years went bye, the clarity of the experience dimmed.
